The development takes its name from a former manufactured gas plant that once occupied part of the site. Today, the vision is dramatically different. One of the project's major milestones occurred when a six-story office building reached its highest point during construction. The building will serve as the future headquarters for Grow Financial and includes ground-floor retail space designed to activate the surrounding streets.

Retail, Dining, and Entertainment
Retail and entertainment are central components of the Gasworx vision.
The project is expected to deliver approximately 150,000 square feet of retail space that will accommodate restaurants, cafes, local shops, services, and entertainment venues. Developers have emphasized creating an active street-level experience that reflects the character and history of Ybor City while introducing new attractions to the area.
Plans also include a marketplace concept that will serve as a gathering place for residents, workers, and visitors.

The development includes plans for a new TECO Streetcar stop that will connect Ybor City with the Channel District, Water Street Tampa, and Downtown Tampa.
