Michael listed our, single family home, a lovely colonial located in the Hyde Park neighborhood in Boston. He was instrumental in organizing professional photos and a Matterport virtual tour of our home, highlighting the beauty and charm of our home. My husband and I worked with Mike in 2020-2021 to find our first home. The market was extremely difficult for us as first time home buyers and Mike was extremely patient and accommodating to us. Although we ultimately purchased a single family home in Wrentham, our search started in surrounding towns in Norfolk and Suffolk counties: Millis, Medfield, Dedham, Walpole, Plainville, Foxborough, and Franklin. He took us to a number of different homes so we could get a better sense of how much square footage we needed vs number of beds and baths, what we were willing to renovate ourselves vs what was non negotiable, and how much money we needed to reserve for updates vs willing to put towards the down payment. Mike introduced us to a lender who talked with us and Mike about rehab loans and traditional FSH loans, as we had considered a lake house that needed extensive work. In addition to financial advisors and lenders, Mike also had a list of home inspectors and attorneys that we did work with, but we never felt pressured to work with anyone Mike recommended. It was convenient and put us at ease to have a list of recommended professionals we could talk to rather than having to research real estate attorneys in a rush. Mike helped us submit offers on multiple homes but due to the nature of the market we did lose out on 3 homes before we finally purchased our home in Wrentham. In all of the offers we submitted Mike made professional recommendations on what he thought would be a competitive offer (knowing that the market was extremely difficult and houses had offers way over asking) but never pushed us to make an offer we were uncomfortable with. We also chose to take a short break while looking at homes to reassess what we wanted, which he was very understanding of. In the end we were extremely happy with the home we purchased, the price/ offer we made, and Mike’s negotiation skills in closing the deal. We worked with a home inspector, lender, and attorney that Mike introduced us to. Mike and his contacts kept us informed at every step of the buying journey from submitting an offer to purchase and sale through closing. During the weeks between having an accepted offer and moving in, Mike coordinated with the sellers so I was able to have a fencing company come in for measurements/ quotes, measured the bedrooms and living room, and helped us coordinate/ negotiate the sale of some tools and appliances including a snow blower, ride on mower, and workbench. After closing on the house, Mike has kept in touch to see how things are going in our new home and even dropped off pie for Thanksgiving. I would recommend Mike as a real estate agent for other first time home buyers and seasoned homeowners alike, and I would trust him to sell our home and help us find a new home when we’re ready for more space.
