Reba McEntire has spent decades captivating audiences through music, television, and theater. Now the beloved country icon is lending her signature warmth and humor to a new stage: helping Americans navigate the homebuying process.
The 70-year-old superstar is the new face of Realtor.com, starring in a fresh sitcom inspired campaign called "Nearly Home." Infused with McEntire’s Southern charm and comedic timing, the campaign is designed to make the often stressful real estate journey feel more approachable and more human.
In the first episode of the campaign titled “The One Without the Break Up,” Reba swoops in to save a couple on the verge of splitting over their chaotic house hunt. She quickly introduces them to the Realtor.com platform, emphasizing its tools and reliability with the pitch perfect line, “Y’all need Realtor.com, the app the pros trust most.” It is classic Reba, tough love with a wink.
The campaign is not just scripted laughs and catchy jingles which McEntire also sings. It is deeply personal for Reba, who sees homeownership as a serious and heartfelt milestone. “People are putting up their hard-earned money, their savings, and they want to find the right place,” she says. “If one piece is missing, it is like a little piece of the pie that is not complete.”
McEntire, who has called Nashville home for over 30 years, brings more than star power to the project. She brings a lived understanding of what makes a house a home. Raised in Oklahoma by parents who embodied true Southern hospitality, she recalls always offering visitors something to eat or drink, no matter the family's financial means. That spirit of welcome infuses her entire approach to the campaign.
Despite her love of home, McEntire admits to a guilty pleasure: browsing house listings just for fun. “I do like to look at listings,” she confesses. “Even though I am happy with my home, it is just curiosity.” That curiosity, paired with her natural ability to connect with people, has her joking about a second career in real estate.
“I might be a little opinionated and say, ‘You do not need this house,’” she laughs. “And maybe that is what makes a great real estate agent!”
McEntire hopes to entertain homebuyers and help get the platform more traffic. Through humor, heart, and a touch of Southern wit, she is helps turn a high stakes experience into something a little more joyful.
